Resource
Development
Resource development
is a driving activity for all organizations. SPIPA’s financial
resources come primarily from Federal and Washington State grants. A small portion of the budget comes from foundations. These funds
are generated through researching and writing grant proposals consistent
with the agency’s strategic goals and the directions from tribal
consortium members.
SPIPA recently
embarked on increasing and diversifying financial resources through
revenues from the private sector. Our main fundraiser has been the
Annual Native Arts Endowment Dinner and Auction. The eighth annual
Art Auction and Endowment dinner wwill be held on November 3, 2007
at Little Creek Hotel and Resort, located between Olympia and Shelton.

2006
Sixth Annual SPIPA
Dinner
and Art Auction Program.
The
Agency is exploring establishment of an Intertribal Community
Foundation
that will spearhead capital fund campaign efforts. This will help speed
up the process of accumulating endowment funds.
There are plans
to begin offering individual donors the chance to contribute through
payroll-deduction (or periodic invoicing). Donors may designate the
programmatic use of donor contributions.
Board members,
SPIPA staff, tribal employees, tribal member volunteers, Agency
friends
and volunteers from non-tribal communities all work together to plan
and conduct fund-raising activity on behalf of the Agency.
Anyone interested
in donating to the Agency, or contributing to the Auction, may do so
by calling (360) 426-3990 or (800) 924-3984.
We
at SPIPA believe that what we can dream and work for together has a
good chance of happening.
