Delinquency Prevention

This program provides summer education, after school tutoring, cultural programs, and community prevention programs. At-risk youth ages 8-17 are targeted.

Teens enjoy the first Youth Day, summer 2002, at Panhandle Lake. Having Youth Day at Panhandle Lake is now a tradition.

Youth from Chehalis, Nisqually, Skokomish and Squaxin Island participated. The Shoalwater Bay youth had transportation difficulties en route.

The Public Health and Safety Network

The SPIPA Network Program works in partnership with tribal communities to reduce substance abuse, school dropout rates, and youth violence.

The program seeks to implement cultural values, enhance self-esteem, and offer mentoring and education programs among 250 Native American Youth. It receives funding from the Family Policy Council.
