General Assistance Programs

This program provides clients with financial assistance if they meet certain eligibility requirements. A client must be an enrolled Native American and reside within the SPIPA service area.

Geene

Currently, Geene Felix, Special Projects Coordinator, is working with General Assistance clients.

Help With Basic Needs
Clients must also lack enough income and resources to meet essential needs. The program is designed to meet basic financial needs while a client is between jobs or when enrolled as a full-time college student.

Check If You Are Eligible
for Benefits

To become, and remain, eligible for the General Assistance benefits, a client must conduct monthly employment searches. Children and people with physical or mental disabilities are exempt from this search.

Benefits are adjusted when, and if, a person becomes employed. General Assistance services are available at the Nisqually and Chehalis Tribal Sites. The other consortium tribes currently operate separate General Assistance programs.

To check on your eligibility call your tribal center or SPIPA's main number: (360) 426-3990
or toll free: (800) 924-3984
